By age twenty-three, Amy Jean was managing a household as a single parent raising two neurodivergent children. In 2020, Amy Jean's strategic leadership led them to co-found Black Lives Matter Mississippi, a prominent statewide advocacy coalition. They designed and implemented organizational infrastructure, directed grassroots operations, and served as a primary spokesperson. During this high-visibility work, they managed rapid-response crisis communications under intense scrutiny, coordinated complex logistics, and maintained compliance with public safety standards. Their anti-domestic terrorism work directly confronted organized white supremacist networks, documenting hate-group activity and building community defense to protect vulnerable populations across the state.

A Lifetime of Making
Amy Jean has been an artist for as long as they can remember. Today their latest work spans music, visuals and writing, all carefully curated with a self-taught eye, a Deep South gothic sensibility, and a voice built over a lifetime of making. Based out West with their family, they balance dedicated leadership at home with a full-time creative practice, reclaiming their rich Cajun heritage through vegan culinary development and publishing independent literature and music.
