The Artist
From Tupelo to the Fire
Amy Jean Nobles was born in Tupelo, Mississippi, and grew up across the Deep South, mostly near New Orleans. They are a self-taught artist with no formal training, and they have moved over a hundred times in their life. Each place left its mark.
They came to art the way a lot of people come to art: because they needed it to stay alive. Creating is their therapy. It is how they metabolize what they have witnessed, what they have survived, and what they have watched happen to people they love. The work is not a performance of pain. It is the practice of staying, of making something out of what was done, of refusing to let the worst thing be the last word.
The record of that work lives on the media page. What lives here, in the art, is the thread: a lifetime of witnessing what unaccountable power does to people, and a refusal to look away. On making art with new tools, and why it was never really about them, there's a letter for that.

The music and the art are one body of work. American Wreckage, the album, and the artworks it inspired share the same DNA: rage, survival, and the refusal to be silent. The album dropped as the Epstein Files Transparency Act moved through Congress, and the work knows what it is.
